Axon, BSS, DefSecIntel, JISR, and CS Group France have been selected to provide solutions built around a common command-and-control (C2) architecture integrating modular sensors, electronic warfare effectors, and optional hard-kill interceptors.
A unified C2 layer enables operators to detect, identify, and respond to drone threats across fixed sites, forward operating bases, and mobile deployments.
The multi-supplier approach aims to accelerate procurement while improving supply resilience and enabling shared through-life support among contractors.
NSPA will expand the catalogue as threats evolve, ensuring forces continue to receive proven solutions through a streamlined procurement pathway aligned with emerging operational needs.
NATO Plans $40B Counter-Drone Investment
The framework agreements come as NATO expands efforts to strengthen counter-drone capabilities across the alliance.
In July, the alliance announced plans to establish a counter-drone marketplace for NATO-tested and compatible systems, alongside a commitment to invest more than $40 billion in counter-drone capabilities over the next five years.
Beyond procurement, NATO is also expanding drone operator training. Allies will extend the NATO Multinational Flight Training Europe initiative to include drone training, allowing participating nations to leverage shared training infrastructure and expertise across the alliance.
