L3Harris has awarded CPI Aerostructures a $13.6-million contract to supply airborne pod structures for the Next-Generation Jammer-Low Band (NGJ-LB) program.
The finalized award exceeds the previously announced undefinitized contract action valued at up to $12.1 million.
The NGJ-LB pods are intended to replace the US Navy’s aging AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System aboard the EA-18G Growler electronic attack aircraft.
CPI Aero’s pod structures support L3Harris’ delivery of operational prototypes to the US Naval Air Systems Command for fleet assessment and additional test assets for airworthiness and design verification.
“Knowing that our NGJ Low Band pods will join our NGJ Mid Band pods flying on every EA 18G Growler — supporting a mission that is critical to joint and coalition armed forces — makes this milestone especially meaningful,” said Dorith Hakim, CPI Aero President and CEO.
Advanced Electronic Warfare
The NGJ-LB is designed to provide enhanced electronic attack capabilities through a modular open-system architecture that simplifies future upgrades.
L3Harris is the prime contractor for the NGJ-LB Engineering and Manufacturing Development program and is responsible for delivering eight operational prototype pods and four test pods.
Since the NGJ-LB program launched in 2024, CPI Aero has been providing design for manufacturing and assembly engineering support.
The company also recently delivered the first test article to L3Harris.
Apart from CPI Aero, Honeywell Aerospace was also tapped in June 2025 to support the development of the NGJ-LB system.
