Pearson Engineering and Ukrainska Bavovna have signed an agreement to strengthen Ukraine’s domestic capability to repair, maintain, and support British-supplied combat engineering equipment, including mine-clearance and route-opening systems.
The partnership focuses on establishing in-country maintenance services and training for operators of engineering systems, alongside broader efforts to build Ukraine’s ability to sustain deployed equipment.
The initiative is intended to ensure that mine countermeasure and mobility systems supplied to Ukrainian forces remain operational closer to the point of use.
“This agreement represents the next stage in our partnership with Ukrainska Bavovna and reflects our shared commitment to supporting Ukraine’s mobility and demining capabilities, making civilian areas safer and enabling reconstruction,” CEO of Pearson Engineering Limited Ian Bell said.
“Developing these in-country maintenance, training, and support capabilities will help ensure that vital equipment remains available where and when it is needed.”
Pearson Engineering Equipment in Ukraine
The agreement builds on a 2024 UK government procurement of Pearson Engineering mine countermeasure equipment for Ukraine, which included multi-purpose vehicle interface systems.
These systems enable Ukrainian armored vehicles to operate British-supplied engineering attachments, such as mine ploughs, expanding their ability to conduct obstacle-clearance operations.
“Ukraine continues to face significant challenges from mine contamination, and developing maintenance, training, and support capability in-country will help ensure this vital equipment remains available where it is needed most,” Director of International Cooperation and Partnerships at Ukrainska Bavovna, Andriy Boychenyuk, added.
