US Army Picks Anduril to Support Next-Gen Command and Control Network 

The US Army has selected Anduril to provide the common data baseline for the Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) program.

NGC2 is designed to create a shared digital environment linking sensors, weapons systems, communications networks, software applications, and AI tools across the force.

Under the program, Anduril will provide the software integration layer via its Lattice platform.

The software serves as a common data architecture that enables systems from different vendors to exchange information and operate on the same network.

According to the company, the objective is to allow commanders and units to access a common operational picture while reducing the time required to move information between sensors, headquarters, and weapons systems.

Operational Testing Campaign

The selection follows a 10-month testing campaign under the Ivy Sting and Ivy Mass exercises, culminating in a division-scale demonstration in May.

Early demonstrations focused on digital fire-control workflows.

During the first Ivy Sting exercise, soldiers from the 4th Infantry Division used the network to coordinate artillery missions with M777 howitzers, reducing the time required to move targeting information from sensors to firing units.

Subsequent events expanded the network to include additional sensors, radar systems, AI-enabled target recognition tools, and airspace management applications.

Later exercises also incorporated US Marine Corps systems and tested data sharing across different military organizations and security domains.

Ivy Mass, the largest event, connected more than 160 tactical edge computers, over 2,500 user devices, and up to 40 software applications across training areas in Colorado.

The exercise evaluated the network’s ability to operate at the division scale while under simulated cyber and electronic warfare conditions.
