Canadian company SPARC AI has tapped Ukrainian advisory firm CFC Defence to expand adoption of its Overwatch navigation platform in Ukraine.
Under this agreement, CFC will help SPARC AI identify and engage military units, government stakeholders, defense developers, and technology clusters that could evaluate or integrate the company’s technology into their systems.
At the center of the effort is Overwatch, a software-based navigation and targeting platform designed to operate in GPS-denied environments.
The system is intended for unmanned and autonomous platforms and can be integrated across different hardware configurations rather than being tied to a specific drone or vehicle.
The Ukrainian firm will also facilitate introductions, product demonstrations, and capability assessments aimed at moving Overwatch from initial interest to operational testing.
Expanding Defense Partnerships in Ukraine
SPARC AI’s latest move reflects a broader trend of foreign defense companies partnering with Ukrainian firms to establish a foothold in the country’s rapidly expanding defense industry.
One example is the joint venture between Auterion and Ukraine’s Airlogix which aims to produce AI-enabled drones for Ukraine. This move pairs Airlogix’s combat-tested platforms with Auterion’s software for autonomous navigation, AI-assisted targeting, and resilience against electronic warfare.
In April 2026, a survey showed that 90 percent of 42 Ukrainian defense firms had received partnership requests in early 2026, with the strongest interest coming from the US (36 percent), followed by Germany (29 percent) and Denmark (21 percent). The surveyed group included manufacturers of advanced weapons systems.
