MARTAC has teamed up with fellow Florida firm Mystic Powerboats to expand its domestic uncrewed surface vessel (USV) production capacity.
The co-production partnership deal aims to meet the growing demands for autonomous maritime systems from the US and allied customers.
MARTAC develops high-speed USVs deployed for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions and swarm operations, such as Mantas T12 and the Devil Ray T38 in service with the US Navy.
Meanwhile, Mystic Powerboats specializes in advanced carbon-fiber and composite manufacturing and operates a nearly 100,000-square-foot (9,290-square-meter) production site.
Its facilities and three decades of expertise, particularly in epoxy resin infusion, carbon-fiber lamination, and foam-core construction, enable it to support MARTAC’s USV assembly efforts.
According to MARTAC, this collaboration is only “the first of several pending domestic co-production partnerships” in support of scaling and accelerating its production capacity, as well as diversifying the supply chain.
“Accelerating autonomous maritime capability is imperative as nations place greater emphasis on maintaining maritime awareness, ensuring force protection across distributed maritime operations, and protecting critical shipping lanes,” said John Cosker, Founder and CEO of Mystic Powerboats.
The partnership announcement comes in the same month as MARTAC launched its new San Diego office, supporting the company’s efforts to accelerate development timelines and expand market reach.
